On a national level 90% of CAB workers are volunteers
As an equal opportunities employer The Chase CAB are always looking for new people to become volunteers. You don’t have to become an adviser, perhaps you you would like to join our clerical team and assist with the administration work of the bureau. Maybe, you would like to help us carry out some research or social policy work or join our Trustee Board which is responsible for the management of the bureau. In return for your time, you will develop new skills, meet new people and make new friends.If you would like to train as an Adviser, you will receive free training before you would be expected to interview people. All of our training is done with as much or as little support as you feel you need. Training takes place in a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere where you will learn from your colleagues while also developing your own skills.
If you would like to train as a Clerical Volunteer, you will be able to work through a structured training programme, as well as receiving "on the job" training. Each module of the programme is designed to represent a different level, representing the complexity of tasks and the skills required to complete them, so giving all Clerical Volunteers an opportunity to achieve competence in one or more levels. This means that the Bureau may be able to offer Clerical Volunteering opportunities for a variety of skill levels.
Many of our paid staff originally started at the CAB as volunteers, showing that volunteering at The Chase CAB can be a great opportunity to learn new skills and improve your CV for employment in the future.
