About The Chase CAB

The Chase Citizens Advice Bureau has provided free, confidential and impartial advice to the people of Cannock since 24th October 1967

Cannock CAB and Rugeley CAB merged on 1st October 2008 to form The Chase CAB, but both offices remain open to serve the public. The Chase CAB, as well as all other Bureaux, belong to Citizens Advice who ensure that our service is delivered to a very high standard.  Citizens Advice also ensure that all Bureaux adhere to two main aims, these are:

To ensure that individuals do not suffer through a lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express their needs effectively.

and also:

To exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policy and services both locally and nationally.  To find out more about social policy  click on the link above or on social policy in the blue column on the left.

Okay, so what do these two aims mean?

Put simply, our main aims are to make sure that you get all the information or help that you need. We also work on social policy issues such as local housing problems, the cost of healthcare, the price of school uniforms and other issues facing people locally or nationally, to try to prevent problems occurring in the future.

How Can We Help You?

All of our advisers are highly trained and can give you information, help and  advice on a wide range of topics including; family and personal issues, debt problems, immigration issues, the benefits system, your housing rights, your rights as a consumer and your rights as an employee or employer.

We are pretty confident that if you have a question we have some information on it and if we haven’t, we can certainly help you to find someone that has!

Providing you with the help you need doesn’t just mean sending you away with information. We can help you fill in forms such as benefit claims, we can negotiate and write letters to others on your behalf, and depending on our resources, we may even be able to represent you, for instance at a benefit appeal or an employment tribunal.
